李友：我们有两个人。
王朋：服务员，请问，还有没有位子？
服务员：这张桌子没有人。请坐！
*waiter pulls chair out for 王朋和李友*
the waiter and the chef come out and explain the menu items and delicacies.
服务员：二位想吃点儿什么？
李友：王朋，你点菜吧。
王朋：好。来两碗牛肉面。。。
李友：牛肉面好是好，可是我吃素。
王朋：。。。两盘宫爆鸡丁，两盘糖醋鱼。。。
李友：王朋，我不吃肉！
王朋：。。。两盘（dish），两盘（dish）。。。
李友：我一点肉都不吃！
王朋：。。。（meat dishes）。。。
李有：(interrupting 王朋) 请给我一盘麻婆豆腐。
服务员：厨师魏博烨！（shouts）
厨师魏博烨：什么？！（angrily）
服务员：我们今天有没有麻婆豆腐？（shouts）
厨师魏博烨（chushi; chef）：我没有麻婆豆腐！（angrily）
服务员：对不起，我们没有麻婆豆腐。
李友：(sighing) 那么来两碗米饭。
服务员：你们想喝点什么？
王朋：我要一杯冰茶，一杯可口可乐和一杯雪碧，放五冰块。
李友：冰茶，可口可乐，雪碧!? 可是现在是冬天！我只喝茶。
服务员：(repeats order)你想喝点什么？
王朋：一杯茶。
李友：一杯冰茶，一杯可口可乐和一杯雪碧。
服务员：一杯茶，一杯冰茶，一杯可口可乐和一杯雪碧。好吗？
李友： 对 !
服务员： 他们要(repeats order).（Shout to chef who is in the kitchen）
厨师：（exclamatory sigh）！为什么他们多点菜了？！（angrily）
(chef is shown making food)
服务员 serves the food.
(both start eating)
王朋：(to 李友, who is eating only rice while 王朋 is stuffing his face) 饭菜很好吃，对吗？
李友 glares at 王朋。
王朋 messes up all table manners; he stabs his food with chopsticks and bangs the chopsticks on the table)
王朋 criticizes all the food and is really picky, which irritates 李友, the waitress and chef
王朋 also throws his drink on the floor, and annoys 李友 continuously.
服务员 walks back to the kitchen and talks to 厨师。
服务员：那个先生很挑剔 (picky), 因为他的雪碧有四冰块，没有五冰块，所以他不喜欢雪碧。
师傅：糟糕！冰块刚卖完，怎么办？
服务眼 tells 王朋 that there are no ice cubes left, he gets angry and starts ranting.
李友 slips 服务员 some money and whispers something in her ear. 服务员 nods and goes back to the kitchen.
服务员 splits the money with 厨师 and whispers something in his ear.
厨师：好了！
厨师 is shown poisoning 王朋's dim sum.
服务员 serves the dim sum, and nods at 李友。王朋 dies dramatically.
服务员 gives 李友 the check.
李友：好像今天我请客。
Some of the above lines which are in English are just drafts; we will write them in Chinese later.
Teacher's comments: Very interesting story. But from what I understand, Wangpeng ordered everything with meat. Liyou wants Mapo Doufu without meat, but the restaurant didn't have the dish. So she would not be able to eat anything except the cooked rice. Is that how the story about?

Below are some prop ideas for the skit:
- Maybe a sign that says the name of the restaurant - someone can hold it up before we start the skit - For the table where 王朋 and 李友 are sitting, we can put two desks together - A paper and pen for the waitress to take the order
- Two menus (on the menu we can list the dishes NingNing has to order so he doesn't have to memorize all of them)
- Two pairs of chopsticks
- Another table near the chef, where he could be shown preparing the food
- Some plates and bowls to represent food - we should somehow differentiate between the rice and the other dishes
- Three cups of cold drinks and one cup of tea
- Some fake money
- A bottle of "poison"
- The check
- A chef's hat would be nice
- Kali will dress up as a waitress
-Dressing up in the appropriate outfits for your part.
English Overview:
Two acquaintances, 王朋， and 李友 go out to a restaurant for a meal, upon arriving, they are seated and ready to order their food. While ordering, 王朋 becomes progressively irritable so much so that he drives 李友 to make some irrational decisions! It starts out with 王朋 ordering over four meat dishes even though he knows 李友 is a vegetarian. 李友 struggles to understand how 王朋 could be so rude. Not 5 minutes after ordering the food, the waiter takes their order for drinks, 王朋 again gets on the nerves of 李友 by ordering unconventional drinks with an unnecessary attitude. When the two receive their food, 王朋 hits his peak of annoying-ness by rudely and noisily critiquing the food, insulting everyone in the restaurant! Together, the waitress, chef, and 李友 hastily prepare a plot to poison 王朋! The chef poisons 王朋 dim sum, and 王朋 dramatically flounders on the floor of the restaurant. 李友 leaves with a strange feeling of pride and confidence.
